Officers attacked by crowd of 20

The police have said officers came under a "sustained attack" in Newtownabbey on Saturday night.

The officers were investigating a serious assault in the Diamond area of the Rathcoole estate at about 2315 BST.

They were confronted by a crowd of more than 20 people.

Four men and a woman were arrested and are being questioned about riotous behaviour, assault on police and criminal damage to police property.

The five are aged from their late teens to their early 40s.
