Rescue teams search sea for boy Boy swept out to sea is rescued

Lifeboats and two rescue helicopters are looking for a boy of three missing in the sea off the Norfolk coast. A boy who was swept out to sea off the Norfolk coast, sparking a major search operation, has been found.
Thames Coastguard started the search on Sunday evening after reports that a child was in the water off Wells-Next-the-Sea. The boy, reported to be 11, was picked up by an RAF search and rescue helicopter after going missing near Wells-Next-the-Sea.
He has been taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where his condition is said to be serious.
Lifeboats and helicopters were involved in the search for the boy who was from a Tamil festival in the town.

She said there were three emergency ambulances on standby and a beach buggy was scouring the sands.
A spokesman for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said the emergency services were alerted at about 1630 BST.
