The anti-racist festival commemorates Anthony, a talented black youth from Huyton, killed in a racist murder in 2005. Meanwhile, Writing on the Wall and the Anthony Walker Foundation are launching a poetry slam at 2pm at the Victoria Gallery & Museum situated on Brownlow Hill.

The competition is open to poets and spoken word artists of all ages and experiences – from beginners to veterans. Performers have three minutes to weave their words and WoW the audience. Guest performers and judges include Curtis Watt aka C-Zero and darling of this year's WoW Festival Jess Green. The winner will be featured at a high profile event at Writing on the Wall Festival 2013.The competition is open to poets and spoken word artists of all ages and experiences – from beginners to veterans.
