A number of mortars have hit Baghdad's Green Zone, a US embassy official said, adding that there were no fatalities. A mortar and rocket attack on Baghdad's heavily-protected Green Zone has killed three people, Iraqi police said.
About 12 mortars landed in the heavily fortified district where the government and parliament are based, and which is also home to many foreign embassies. Two Iraqis and one Filipino were killed and about 25 people wounded, Iraqi officials said.
Police said up to 30 rockets and mortars were fired into the zone which houses the government and parliament and many foreign embassies.
