The five accused are to appear before Laganside Magistrates Court on Monday. All five were remanded in custody to appear again in court in four weeks.
Appearing in the dock of Belfast Crown Court were Janine Balmer, 34, from Green End; David Shields, 19, from Clonbeg Drive; William Fleming, 24, from Rathmore Drive; Jonathan Robinson, 18, from Innis Avenue; and Robert Monkman, 41, from Monkschool House, all in the Rathcoole estate.
All five were charged with riotously assembling with others and damaging a police vehicle.
In addition, Ms Balmer and Mr Shields were also charged with riotous behaviour and Mr Fleming with resisting arrest, while Mr Robinson was charged with both obstructing police and resisting arrest.
A police constable said she believed she could connect Mr Monkman, Mr Robinson and Mr Fleming to the charges, while a detective constable said he believed he could connect Ms Balmer and Mr Shields to the charges.
Solicitors for each of the accused said they would all be seeking High Court bail.
