A section of the M6 near Birmingham has been closed after a crash involving a horse box. A section of the M6 has been closed after a crash involving a horsebox and two other vehicles.
West Midlands Police said up to three vehicles were involved in the accident. A horse died and a man and a woman were seriously injured in the crash at 14:25 BST on the southbound carriageway just before the exit for the M42.
The motorway has been closed between junction 6 at the A38 Aston Expressway and junction 4, near Coleshill, where the M6 meets the M42. The motorway has been closed in both directions between junction 5 near Castle Bromwich and junction 4A, where the M6 meets the M42.
