An air and sea rescue for a missing four-year-old boy in Somerset has been called off until Monday. Police said it was too dark to search for the boy and the operation would resume in the morning. | |
The boy's parents had dived into the water to try to rescue him after he fell into the sea on the south side of a slipway at Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset. A passerby noticed their difficulty and called emergency services. | |
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency said a search involving helicopters, coastguard rescue teams and two lifeboats began after the alarm was raised. | |
