Emergency services were called shortly after 6pm on Sunday evening after the child, named by police as Dylan Cecil from Kettering, vanished into the water near a jetty at Burnham-on-Sea. An air and sea search involving coastguard rescue teams, lifeboats and an RAF helicopter was scaled back at dusk but continued overnight.
