Version 0 of 1.

A 24-year-old man who was the victim of an unprovoked violent attack on a bus in East Sussex was left with the offender's footprint on his face.

Newly-released CCTV images show Mark Sharp, who was going to Portslade, being repeatedly kicked.

Police released the images of the 7 April attack in the hope they will encourage witnesses to come forward.

Sgt Justin Burtenshaw said: "This was one of the worst unprovoked attacks I've seen in 10 years of policing."

Mr Sharp was returning home on the 1A bus after a night out in Brighton, at about 2315 BST.

His attacker was described as being in his late teens, and was either black or of mixed race, and about 5ft 5in tall.

"All I saw was his foot coming towards me, about 14 times... it was horrible," said Mr Sharp.

He believes the offender got on with or after a group of girls at Churchill Square.
