Four ornamental ponds within the Ocean Village complex are being searched after police dive teams scoured a nearby marina for clues last week. Four ornamental ponds within the Ocean Village complex were searched earlier in a bid to find possible clues to those responsible.
'Nimble and bouncy' Det Supt Tony Harris, from Hampshire Police, described the move as part of a "systematic search" of the Ocean Village area.
He said: "Officers have been sifting through the bottom of the ponds to see if they can find anything that may link to the murder.
"It may be a murder weapon or indeed anything taken from the flat that may lead us to someone responsible for killing Delia Hughes."
CCTV search
He added: "It's still not clear if anything was taken from the flat and that's why we've got to search to see if we can find something that will help us to identify the motive."
One theory detectives are looking at is the possibility Ms Hughes may have been killed by a burglar who accessed her ground floor flat from outside, rather than through a communal entrance.
