The hearing that found General Momyer’s criticism of the all-black squadron known as the Tuskegee Airmen, which had been under his command, to be baseless was held by a War Department committee, not a Congressional committee. He led the 33rd Fighter Group in North Africa and Italy from 1942 to 1943, not from 1942 to 1944. The planes under his command when he was deputy commander for air operations in Vietnam did not include B-52s. And he married Marguerite Willson in 1935, not 1939.
