Suicide attack on British convoy Nine die in Afghanistan attacks

Two Afghan civilians have been killed and four British soldiers injured by a suicide bomber in Helmand province in Afghanistan, police say. Nine people have been killed and four coalition soldiers hurt in two attacks by Taleban insurgents in the southern Afghan province of Helmand, police say.
A vehicle in the convoy was damaged in the attack, which took place in Sangeen district, the province's police chief, Muhammad Hussain Andiwal, told the BBC. Two Afghan civilians were killed and four soldiers were injured when a suicide bomber attacked a coalition convoy in Sangeen district.
Helmand, in southern Afghanistan, is a Taleban stronghold where a large number of militants are said to be based. In another attack, insurgents killed seven people, including six policemen, in an ambush in Marja district.

In another attack in Helmand 's Marja district, Taleban militants ambushed policemen, leaving six officers and a civilian dead, Mr Andiwal said.
Two police vehicles were also damaged in the attack, he said.
