The man accused of murdering two police officers in a gun and grenade attack in Greater Manchester is due to appear later at the city's crown court.

Dale Cregan is charged with the murders of PCs Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes at Mottram in Tameside a week ago.
Dale Cregan, 29, is charged with the murders of PC Fiona Bone and PC Nicola Hughes, who were killed in a gun and grenade attack in Mottram last Tuesday.
The 29-year-old is also accused of murdering Mark Short in May and his father, David, last month.

The accused, who also faces four counts of attempted murder, is expected to appear via videolink.
He appeared at Manchester Crown Court via videolink from HMP Manchester. He was further remanded and the case was adjourned until 5 November.
He was arrested last Tuesday after walking into Hyde police station and appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Friday where he was remanded in custody.
The hearing is expected to take place before Judge Andrew Gilbart QC in the presence of counsel for the prosecution and defence.
The officers, who were unarmed, were shot when they went to investigate an alleged burglary at a house in Abbey Gardens.
PC Bone, 32, who had served with Greater Manchester Police for five years, died at the scene.
PC Hughes, 23, had been with the force for three years and died later of her injuries at Tameside Hospital.
Estate vigil
Mark Short, 23, was shot in the neck at the Cotton Tree Inn in Droylsden on 25 May.
A further four men accused of murdering Mr Short will appear at the city's Crown Court on 2 November.
Mr Cregan is also accused of attempting to murder three other men who were in the pub at the time.
On 10 August Mr Short's father, David, died in a gun and grenade attack at his home in Folkestone Road East in Clayton.
A further charge of attempting to murder Sharon Hark relates to actions alleged to have been carried out by Mr Cregan on the same day.
Two other men, Anthony Wilkinson, 33, and Jermaine Ward, 24, have been charged with murder and attempted murder in relation to the killing of David Short.
They will appear at Manchester Crown Court on 9 November.
A vigil is expected to take place later in the week on the Hattersley estate where the officers were shot.
