Damascus resident Jean-Pierre Duthion told the BBC that his entire building shook and windows were shattered. BBC cameraman Phil Goodwin was in a hotel nearby when the attack struck.
"We all ran into the corridor, in the place without windows or anything, and we were just waiting until it stopped," he said. "The first blast shook the entire building I was in and sent a huge plume of smoke in the sky," he said.
