Teenager hurt in 999 call crash

A 18-year-old female motorist has been seriously injured in a crash involving a police vehicle while officers were responding to a 999 call.

The teenager, driving a Ford Ka, was hurt following the crash on Beachy Head Road, Eastbourne, Sussex, at 1930 BST.

Sussex Police said a passenger in the woman's car and two officers were also treated for minor injuries and shock.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission has launched an investigation into the incident.

Police have asked any witnesses to contact them.
