Robbers have ridden into a north London shopping centre on motorbikes and raided a jewellery store. Robbers armed with axes and bats rode motorbikes into an indoor shopping centre in north London and raided a jewellery store.
Six raiders on three bikes are believed to have entered Brent Cross Shopping Centre on Tuesday morning. Four people on three bikes targeted Fraser Hart in Brent Cross Shopping Centre at about 10:15 GMT, said police.
A spokeswoman for the centre said it was not known if the robbers had got away with any items because at least part of the haul had been dropped. The robbers left with a haul of watches and jewellery before riding off in the direction of Hendon Central.
Police said officers were dealing with reports of a robbery at a retail outlet at Brent Cross. The motorbikes were found abandoned soon afterwards at a nearby golf course.
Part of the upper mall remains closed off. No one was injured in the raid, but an elderly man was treated for shock at the scene.
The raid happened shortly after the centre opened to shoppers for the day.
