Mr Hammill who plays for Wolves is currently on loan at Huddersfield Town. He has also played for England's Under-21 side. Club bosses at Huddersfield Town, where he is currently on loan from Wolves, said he could now face further disciplinary action.
A spokesman said: "Adam has already been subject to an internal disciplinary procedure at the club, but we will revisit any possible further action when the legal process has been concluded."
