A man has been seriously injured in a crash between a car and a horse-drawn carriage carrying a wedding party. Four people have been hurt in a crash between a car and a horse-drawn carriage carrying a wedding party.
It happened close to the Mabie House Hotel, in Dumfries and Galloway, at about 14:10 GMT on Saturday. It happened on the A710 close to the Mabie House Hotel, in Dumfries and Galloway, at 14:10 GMT on Saturday.
The carriage was carrying the bride, her father, a 45-year-old man and his daughter to the hotel when it was in collision with a blue/grey Honda CRV. The driver of the carriage, Simon Millar, suffered serious injuries. His daughter Hannah, 18, was released from hospital after treatment.
The 45-year-old, who was the carriage driver, is in a serious but stable condition in hospital, police said. The carriage was also carrying bride Donna Pennycuik, 29, and her father 45-year-old father Lawrence.
All four people were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment. They both suffered minor injuries and were able to return to the wedding after being treated at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
The bride, her father and the man's daughter were released after treatment to minor injuries and returned for the wedding. Mr Millar, 45, was said to be in a serious but stable condition in the hospital.
