The supermarkets haven't said much to us but the Morrisons chain of supermarkets have told BBC Wales they agree with the view of the British Retail Consortium.
At the time these regulations came into force in England in April, the consortium said forcing retailers to spend money on installing new shelves and units to comply with the ban was crazy.
The consortium also thinks that plain packaging would also be a more effective way of stopping people from smoking.
That was introduced in Australia where all packs of cigarettes are now sold in a dark green box, with some images of the harm cigarettes can cause to your health on the box.
That has been considered by the UK government.
They consulted on the idea over the summer but no decision has been made on that yet.
