Missing girl upset over break-up

Natasha Coombs, 17, was travelling back by train to her home in Dovercourt, Essex, from Ipswich, Suffolk, when she disappeared on 27 July. On Friday night, police handed out leaflets to travellers on train services from Ipswich to Manningtree. Police said although Natasha may have been upset there was no indication she intended to disappear. She had not taken any clothes with her and had disposal contact lenses without any spares. Search teams combed woodland near Manningtree station in Essex Essex Police said on the night she disappeared, Natasha had gone to Ipswich to meet friends for a meal at Cardinal Park in the town. Police said Natasha phoned her parents at about 2240 BST to say she was coming home and took the 2242 BST train service from Ipswich. She was due to switch trains at Manningtree but her phone disappeared from the mobile network. Police said there were no CCTV cameras on the train and the cameras at Manningtree station were not working. We are now growing ever more concerned for her welfare Supt Gareth Wilson Search teams are continuing to comb areas around Manningtree for any clues to her disappearance. Supt Gareth Wilson said: "It has now been a week and Natasha was due to fly out to Canada on a family holiday today (Saturday). "We are now growing ever more concerned for her welfare." He appealed for Natasha to make contact. On Thursday, Natasha's parents, Gary and Joanne, made a plea for help finding their only child. Mr Coombs, 48, who works in Norwich, spoke of the "unimaginable pain" he and his 40-year-old wife were suffering. Natasha is described as white, 5ft 3in and slim with brown highlighted hair. When last seen she was wearing a purple sequined top, a purple, pink and white skirt, a white jacket and pumps. |
