Man, 25, on Wrexham murder charge Remand on Wrexham murder charge
(about 23 hours later)
A 25-year-old Wrexham man has been charged with the murder of a man who was originally from Poland, say North Wales Police. A 25-year-old Glasgow man has been remanded in custody charged with murdering another man in Wrexham.
Thomas Blue, 25, will appear before Mold magistrates on Tuesday, accused of killing Adam Michalski, aged 24. Thomas Blue, of Balornoch, is accused of murdering Adam Michalowski, 24, who died in Wrexham early on Sunday.
Police were called to Kingsmills Road in the Hightown area of Wrexham at about 0130 BST on Sunday. Mr Michalowski was originally from Poland, and had lived and worked in Wrexham for two years, Flintshire magistrates were told.
Mr Michalski had been living in Wrexham for some time. His family, who are also living in Wales, have been informed. North Wales Police have said they do not believe the incident was racially motivated.
Mr Blue's solicitor Stephen Edwards did not apply for bail during the hearing.
Magistrates agreed to transfer the case to the crown court and Mr Blue will appear at Mold Crown Court on August 17.
  • North Wales Police say they want to speak to the driver of a white transit van seen leaving a service station on Kingsmill Road, Wrexham, at about 0120 BST on Sunday.
They would also like to trace a man wearing a light coloured shirt who was walking from the service station along Kingsmill Road towards the Travellers Rest pub.
