A man and woman have been arrested and charged with murder following the death of a 65-year-old man on Christmas Day in Dumfries and Galloway. A man and woman have appeared in court following the death of 65-year-old George Potts in Cairnryan on Christmas Day.
George Potts died following an incident at an address in Cairnryan on Tuesday. Christina Mary Dane Slooves or Biggar, 55, from Cairnryan, appeared at Stranraer Sheriff Court charged with murder.
Dumfries and Galloway Police said a 62-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman had been arrested and charged over Mr Potts' death. She is also charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The pair, who are being held in custody, are expected to appear at Stranraer Sheriff Court on Thursday. James Potts, 62, from Ballantrae also appeared, charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Neither made a plea or declaration and both were remanded in custody.
