Concern is growing for a man who has failed to return from a trip to Tenerife, Kent Police have said.

Peter Henley, 50, from the Dover area, flew to Tenerife on 6 December and was due to return to the UK on 18 December.

Officers said he stayed in hotels in two resorts and had booked further nights in another but did not check in.

A spokesman for Kent Police said the force had begun an investigation and was working with Interpol as well as a tour representative in Tenerife.

He said: "We are liaising with Interpol to ask for help from the authorities in Tenerife to carry out enquiries there.

"We are also doing all we can to help Peter's family who are understandably extremely concerned, and to raise awareness with media appeals and posters."

Police said Mr Henley stayed in the resorts of Puerto de Santiago and Puerto de la Cruz.

He had booked further nights at a hotel in Costa De Silencio but failed to check in.

Mr Henley is described as white, slim, 5ft 10in (1.8m), with short grey hair and blue eyes.
