A man is being treated in hospital after falling from a building in north London following a police pursuit. A man is in hospital after falling from the roof of a house in north London after a stand-off with police.
The police helicopter was scrambled after officers were called to reports of a serious assault in Ferntower Road, Islington, on Sunday morning. The 18-year-old man climbed on to the roof after officers arrived at a house in Poets Road, Islington and arrested three other men, the Met Police said.
After a search, two men were arrested and a third was found on the roof of a nearby building, from which he fell. The officers were responding to reports of an assault during an apparent robbery in nearby Ferntower Road.
London Ambulance Service said a man in his 80s was taken to hospital as a result of the initial call. Police said the 18-year-old was later arrested and all four men were being held on suspicion of robbery.
The service was first called at 09:30 GMT and ambulance crews treated the man before taking him to hospital. His injuries are not known. London Ambulance Service said a man in his 80s was taken to hospital with head and hand injuries as a result of the initial call.
About 40 minutes later they were called to the same address to reports a man had fallen from a height. The force helicopter was involved in the operation as was the London Fire Brigade who arrived with a hydraulic platform as negotiators spent about an hour trying to talk the 18-year-old down.
A spokeswoman said he was also taken to hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening. After falling from the roof he was taken to hospital and his injuries are described as non life-threatening.
