Police car and taxi crash injures four in Walkden

Firefighters cut the roof off the police patrol car to rescue three officers after the crash in Manchester Road, Walkden, at 03:00 GMT on Tuesday. The 49-year-old man driving the silver Mercedes private hire cab suffered minor injuries. The police car driver has been suspended pending an investigation. The officers were treated at Hope Hospital. One is being treated for a suspected neck injury, another has been discharged and the third was due to be sent home following treatment. Part of the road was closed for about four hours. |
