A youth who could be as young as 12 has been sexually assaulting women in Leeds, police said.

Officers are investigating four separate attacks on women in their 20s in the Little London area of the city.

The women were grabbed from behind and assaulted near to steps leading from St Mark's Road to North West Road.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Each incident... has involved a white male described as "very young looking", possibly as young as 12."

Increased patrols

The attacker was described as being aged 12 to 20, very thin, with short brown hair, wearing jeans, a black jacket and carrying a shoulder bag.

Police urged anyone who witnessed the assaults, which took place in October, November and December, to come forward.

The spokesman said: "Officers also want to hear from anyone who may have been victim of a similar incident in the area but has not reported it to the police.

"Officers from the local neighbourhood policing team have increased their patrols in the area and will monitor the situation while detectives continue their enquiries to trace the suspect."
