Version 0 of 1.

Gwent detectives investigating the suspected murder of a man who disappeared two weeks ago say they have made a third arrest.

Kyle Vaughan, 24, known as "Jabbers" and from the Newbridge area, disappeared on 30 December.

A 21-year-old man is now in custody on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Officers are questioning a man of 27 on suspicion of murder. A 62-year-old man arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice has been bailed.

Police have appealed for anyone with with information about Unilever worker Mr Vaughan' s disappearance, no matter how insignificant, to come forward.

Concern has been rising for the welfare of the rock music fan who has diabetes and requires regular insulin injections.

Collision

On Saturday officers visited his family and told them that they now feared that he had died.

He was last seen in the late evening of 30 December in the Abercarn and Risca areas.

"On the same night at approximately 23.45, officers found Kyle's car, a silver Peugeot 306, on A467 between Risca and Crosskeys. It is believed the car had been involved in a collision," a spokesman said.

Senior investigating officer Det Sup Peter Jones said: "I'm urging anyone who has any information about Kyle's disappearance, no matter how unimportant it may seem, to contact Gwent Police on 101."

Officers were given an extra 36 hours to question the 27-year-old man held on suspicion of murder on Friday night.

Despite a nationwide police appeal as well as a growing online campaign for information, there have been no sightings of the missing man.

Distinctive tattoo

Over the past week, scores of friends and family continued their search of several wooded areas for the former Cwmcarn High School pupil.

Police have also been carrying out detailed search operations, including using dogs.

Mr Vaughan is 5ft 8in tall, slim build, and has short dark hair and brown eyes.

He was known to wear a gold neck chain with a cross and has a distinctive tattoo of a pair of flaming dice on his inner left forearm as well as tattoos on his right leg.

Gwent Police said anyone with information should call 101, 01633 838111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
