Three children under the age of 10 have admitted desecrating graves in Devon.

Police were called to Torquay Crematorium on Wednesday morning after up to 10 children's graves were discovered damaged.

Officer were called back later in the day when some youngsters were seen causing more vandalism.

Devon and Cornwall Police said three boys - two aged six and one aged eight - had admitted their involvement and been spoken to by officers.

No further action can be taken against them as they are aged under 10, the age of criminal responsibility.

Officers said it appeared to have been a random act of vandalism and was not targeted at a particular family.
