Dr Srinivas Rao Dharmana was closing the practice on Queens Drive, Walton, at about 19:00 GMT on Wednesday when he was approached by five men. They threatened him and stole his Rolex watch before stealing his black Audi TT car. When he tried to stop them they ran the car into him. His black Audi TT was later found abandoned. Dr Dharmana, 42, said one of the gang had a knife and stabbed him twice during the struggle, but fortunately the knife did not go through his thick coat. Cut face He said: "It would have been serious, looking at the cuts it was right in the abdomen so I guess I was lucky because there was a thick winter coat which I was wearing and it didn't go through." He said all five men, who were wearing balaclavas, attacked him outside the surgery. "As I was trying to go towards them, one of them kicked me on my left leg," he said. "As I fell down they all jumped on me. They were all kicking and trying to grab whatever they can. One tried to get the watch the other tried to get the keys. "I went after them trying to see if I could take some photographs of them, and all five of them ran into the car." Dr Dharmana was taken to hospital after the attack to be treated for a cut to his face. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them. |
