Woman dies on A77 in Ayrshire after coach accident

An elderly woman has died after being struck by a coach on the A77 road in Ayrshire.

The bus collided with her near the junction with Maybole Road at about 17:40 on Sunday.

Strathclyde Police said officers were trying to establish how the woman came to be on the road.

They want to speak to anyone who saw her before she was struck. She was described as wearing black trousers, a blue fleece jacket and black shoes.
