Version 0 of 1.

Ten endangered Borneo pygmy elephants have been found dead in a Malaysian forest under mysterious circumstances, and wildlife officials said Tuesday that they were probably poisoned. The carcasses were found near each other over the past three weeks at the Gunung Rara Forest Reserve on Borneo, a Sabah State wildlife official said. The state environment minister said poisoning appeared to be the likely cause, but officials had not determined whether it was intentional, and there was no sign the animals had been poached for their tusks. In one case, officers rescued a 3-month-old calf that appeared to be trying to wake its dead mother. Fewer than 1,500 Borneo pygmy elephants exist, according to the WWF wildlife organization.
