Lockerbie man Michael Goldie dies in A709 accident

A 23-year-old Lockerbie man has been killed in a car crash in southern Scotland that left his passenger in hospital with serious injuries.

Michael Goldie died in the incident at about 22:15 on Wednesday on the A709 road near Lochmaben.

The accident involved one vehicle, a white Honda CRX.

Police said Mr Goldie died at the scene of the crash, while his 21-year-old passenger was in a "serious but stable" condition in hospital.

Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary has appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
