Snow showers have affected areas across Northern Ireland overnight. Snow has been affecting many areas across Northern Ireland, leading to school closures and treacherous road conditions.
The Roads Service has advised drivers to exercise caution particularly on untreated roads. Up to four ins (10cm) of snow has fallen in many parts, particularly on higher ground. Snow ploughs were necessary in some of the worst affected areas.

A number of schools have been closed due to the weather. Thirty-one schools have been closed due to the weather with the Newry and Armagh areas worst hit.
Further sleet or snow showers are expected on Tuesday morning, but they will turn to rain as the afternoon approaches. The Roads Service has advised drivers to take extra care, particularly on untreated roads.
All ferry sailings between Rathlin Island and Ballycastle have been cancelled due to the conditions.

BBC Northern Ireland weather presenter Cecilia Daly said it would remain very cold.
"It will be very windy this evening and overnight with severe gales and gusts up to 60 mph in some exposed areas of the north and east.
"There may be some localised damage due to the high winds. Still some wintry showers tonight and the risk of ice as temperatures drop to 1 or 2 Celsius."
