Version 0 of 1.

Two men have been arrested after a puppy was snatched from her owner's arms as she was being taken home for the first time.

Staffordshire bull terrier Tess, who had been given as a 16th birthday present, was taken from her teenage owner in Cannock on Sunday morning.

Police said two men from Cannock, aged 31 and 35, had been arrested.

However, they said they were still trying to find the brindle-coloured dog, which is four or five months old.

Staffordshire Police said the teenager was approached by two men in Hunter Road at about 10:30 GMT on Sunday.

Officers said the teenager handed over Tess after he was threatened.

They said the 31 and 35-year-old men had been arrested on suspicion of robbery and released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Det Con Emma Harthill said the teenager and his family were using social media sites in the hope someone would recognise the dog.

Tess is described as being a dark brindle colour with white markings on her chest and paws.
