They say 16 people died in twin explosions at a market in a northern district of the capital Baghdad. They say 17 people died in twin blasts at a market in Baghdad and another 13 in explosions in the town of Shomali, south of the capital.
An hour later, 13 people were killed in two near-simultaneous blasts in Hilla, 100km (60 miles) south of Baghdad. At least two people were killed in a blast in the holy Shia city of Karbala.
