Version 0 of 1.

A mother has been found guilty of causing or allowing the death of her seven-week-old baby daughter.

Kristal Davison died in April last year from a head injury after at least two "episodes of violence or trauma", Leeds Crown Court heard.

Jessica Hopkinson, 19, of Ashleigh Avenue in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, was found guilty after a trial.

The jury has not yet returned a verdict in the case of the baby's father, who is charged with the same offence.

Lee Davison, 28, also of Ashleigh Avenue, denies harming his daughter.

During the trial the jury heard how the girl's injuries were caused over a number of weeks.

Prosecutor Julian Goose QC said: "Kristal was subjected to at least two, possibly more, episodes of violence or trauma in her short life.

"Both defendants admit that Kristal was in their care at all material times. How she came to suffer so many injuries with such a catastrophic effect is only known by the two defendants."
