More former teachers at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester are being investigated over allegations of sexual abuse, police have confirmed. A 57-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating allegations of historical sex abuse at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester.
Ex-choir director Michael Brewer and his ex-wife Kay were found guilty on Friday of indecently assaulting Frances Andrade between 1978 and 1982. The man, from Cheshire, is being held on suspicion of rape, Greater Manchester Police said.
Police have said more ex-pupils have come forward and will be interviewed over allegations of historical abuse. Detectives are looking at more than 20 reports by ex-pupils of sexual offences involving a "small number of teachers".
Ex-choir director Michael Brewer and his ex-wife Kay were found guilty of indecently assaulting a former pupil.
They had both abused Frances Andrade, between 1978 and 1982. Mrs Andrade took her own life after giving evidence at their trial.

On Monday police said they were investigating a member of staff who taught at the school in the 1980s.
There are now "a number" of other former teachers under investigation.

Mrs Andrade, 48, is believed to have killed herself after appearing at the trial.
