Schools, colleges and roads have been closed by snow and high winds in mid and north east Wales. More than 120 schools and scores of roads have been closed by snow and high winds in mid and north Wales.

Emergency services say high winds are reported to have toppled trees which are hampering snow ploughs. Roads affected include the A470 at Mallwyd, Gwynedd, that A55 at Conwy and the A5 at Corwen, Denbighshire.
Forecasters say the northeast and mid Wales will be hit by snow over the next 24 hours, but the south west could also see rain turn to snow later. High winds, and the weight of snow, are reported to have toppled trees hampering the progress of snow ploughs.
The Met Office is warning of persistent rain for of south and west Wales, with 30-50 mm possible by the end of the day. Bus operator GHA Coaches Ltd said it was unable to operate any services in the Wrexham and Denbighshire areas due to the snow.
The colder air across north east and mid Wales could bring significant snow of 10-15 cm at lower levels. Some 50 cm possible in the hills and mountains. Friday's 09:00 GMT Stena Line service between Rosslare and Fishguard has been cancelled, and delays are reported on the Holyhead to Dublin route.
Most of the 89 schools in Flintshire are closed, along with 25 in Wrexham, 10 in Powys and five in Denbighshire.
