London Ambulance Service was called but the woman, believed to be in her 30s, and the boy, thought to be aged three, were confirmed dead at the scene. The woman has been identified as Donna Oettinger, 41, and her son as three-year-old Zachary. They were confirmed dead at the scene.

Det Ch Insp Iain Miller, from British Transport Police, said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the woman and child involved in this tragic incident. A BTP spokeswoman said: "The incident was reported to BTP at 8.29am and was also attended by Metropolitan Police officers.
"Officers are continuing to work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident although early indications show that no-one else was believed to have been involved."
