Jersey Boys, a Broadway hit since its launch in 2005, tells the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The New Jersey group, America's biggest band before the Beatles, dominated the charts from the early 60s on with hits like Walk Like a Man, Big Girls Don't Cry and later, Working My Way Back to You. The musical splits the band's career into four stages, from the spring of their early hits to their wintry dissolution and subsequent induction into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame. Neither Eastwood, nor the production company and studio (GK films and Warner Brothers respectively) have confirmed their involvement as yet.Jersey Boys, a Broadway hit since its launch in 2005, tells the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Meanwhile, Eastwood is still trying to cast a male lead for his version of A Star Is Born, which will follow the same lines as the 1976 version starring Barbara Streisand. Sean Penn and Leonardo DiCaprio (whom Eastwood worked with on his last film as director – 2011's J Edgar) have both been attached to the project, but a male lead has not been confirmed. It's thought that Grammy award-winner Esperanza Spalding might fill the boots vacated by Beyonce.Meanwhile, Eastwood is still trying to cast a male lead for his version of A Star Is Born, which will follow the same lines as the 1976 version starring Barbara Streisand.
