A fire brigade spokesman said the building was believed to be disused. Firefighters were concerned about four missing people however a search of the property did not find anyone.
Eight fire engines were called to the fire at 03:15 BST after flames engulfed the property. They had thought the building was being used as a squat and were not sure how many people were staying there.

Police are conducting a thorough search of the property, a London Fire Brigade spokeswoman said.
"Parts of the building have been severely damaged making the search of the property difficult. There is speculation that those missing may have been squatters," she added.
