A man is due in court in Tenerife in connection with the murder of a woman originally from Belfast. A man has appeared in court in Tenerife over the killing of a 40-year-old Belfast woman at the weekend.
The man is thought to be in his 40s and from Sunderland in north-east England. The 47-year-old man is from Sunderland in north-east England.
The victim's body was found in an apartment in Los Cristianos, a resort on the Spanish island popular with British and Irish holidaymakers. It has emerged the victim died as a result of strangulation, not stab wounds as originally reported. The man who was charged was her partner.
