Det Ch Insp Pete Marsh, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "We have made significant progress with our investigation since Friday but this work is very much ongoing. Detectives do not believe there are any immediate concerns for the safety of the wider community.
He added: "Our thoughts remain with Farkhanda's family at this very distressing time." A post-mortem examination found that Ms Younis died from stab wounds.
Earlier Supt Catherine Hankinson said police were doing all they could "to establish the exact circumstances leading up to her death". Det Ch Insp Pete Marsh who is leading the murder investigation said: "A team of detectives have been carrying out substantial enquiries to establish the exact circumstances surrounding her death.
"We have made significant progress with our investigation but this work is very much ongoing.
"Our thoughts remain with Farkhanda's family at this very distressing time and we are determined to provide them with the full answers around her untimely death."
