Version 0 of 1.

China said Tuesday that the H7N9 bird flu had spread to a new area, confirming the first case in the eastern province of Shandong. Since China first announced on March 31 that the virus had been discovered in humans, most cases have been confined to the commercial hub of Shanghai and three nearby provinces. Beijing and the central province of Henan have also reported cases. Total confirmed infections have reached 108, according to official figures; the outbreak has killed 22 people. The World Health Organization says there is no evidence H7N9 is spreading in a “sustained” way between people in China.
