Family and friends of Diana, Princess of Wales are gathering to mark the 10th anniversary of her death at a memorial service in London. The service to mark the 10th anniversary of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales is under way at the Guards' Chapel in London.
Princes William and Harry will lead readings for their mother at the Guards' Chapel, near Buckingham Palace. Princes William and Harry, who were closely involved in organising the service, welcomed Prince Charles and members of the Spencer family.
Guests including Lord Attenborough and Mario Testino are taking their places. The Queen and Prince Philip arrived to cheers from the waiting crowd.
Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed, whose son Dodi died in the crash alongside the princess, laid flowers at a shrine he has built at the London store. Earlier, guests including Lord Attenborough, Sir Cliff Richard and Mario Testino took their places.
Prince William read the 23rd Psalm for his mother.
Rev Patrick Irwin opened the service with the words: "We are gathered here to remember with love and gratitude Diana, Princess of Wales."

The Duchess of Cornwall, who will not be attending the hour-long service at the Guards' Chapel, said in a statement earlier this week that her attendance "could divert attention from the purpose of the occasion". The Duchess of Cornwall was invited to the hour-long service but decided not to attend, saying her presence would be a distraction.
She said she was grateful to her husband and the princes for supporting her decision not to be there. The service includes Diana's favourite classical music by composers Rachmaninov and Mozart.
