A man who used a dumbbell to batter another man during an arranged fight has been jailed for 42 months.

Peter Milne, 33, from Kelway Road, in Wellington, Somerset, attacked Simon Bell, 31, at Tiverton's Pannier Market, Devon, in November 2011.

Milne, who used to live in Tiverton, had denied wounding and having an offensive weapon but was found guilty by a jury at Exeter Crown Court.

As as well being imprisoned, he was also ordered to forfeit the weapon.

Mr Bell spent 15 days in intensive care at Plymouth's Derriford Hospital following the incident.
