A woman who is due to be sentenced for the manslaughter of her husband in Londonderry has gone missing.

Suwei Shang, 39, a part-time primary school teacher, stabbed Damien Keenan, 51, in their Francis Street home in October 2011.

The couple had been married for two months when the stabbing took place.

The police said she was in breach of her bail conditions and they were extremely concerned for her welfare.

She was last seen in the south Belfast area on Wednesday 24 April.

She is described as a Chinese national, approximately 5'7" tall and slim with a pale complexion, brown eyes and dark hair, often tied back in a pony tail.

The PSNI said that when last seen Suwei was wearing a black, quilted jacket and jeans and riding a black bicycle with a basket on the front.

"It is believed that Suwei Shang may have links to the Londonderry, Lurgan and Newtownabbey areas," said a police spokesperson.

"Suwei Shang is asked to present herself to a local police station or indeed if anyone knows of Suwei Shang's whereabouts, they are asked to contact Musgrave Police Station on 0845 600 8000."
