Version 0 of 1.

The Cornish adventurer Pete Goss has announced plans to attempt to cross from Scotland to Norway in a sea kayak.

Although the Norwegian challenge has been attempted before, Mr Goss said no-one had ever completed it.

He will be taking part in the voyage with Andy Warrender from Scotland, who accompanied Mr Goss on his recent Tasmanian kayak trip.

The pair said they had been training for the 200 mile (320 km) trip for more than 12 months.

Pete Goss MBE said: "It would be very easy to fail at this and we don't choose to rely on luck.

"For us, the way to make this safe is to ensure the preparation is there. About 80% of what will keep us safe will be done before we dip our paddles into the water."

Mr Warrender said: "We know it's going to be no easy feat and it will be completely different to our Tasmania circumnavigation in that it will be non-stop.

"But we are confident that we can not only make the crossing, but make it safely."

The pair will set off from the most easterly point of the Shetland Islands at some point in June or July, when an ideal weather window arises.
