http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-coventry-warwickshire-22418441 Version 0 of 1. Some 20 firefighters remain at the scene of a blaze at a Warwickshire recycling plant that began on Tuesday. About 12,000 tonnes of waste and plastic is still burning at Sims Metal Management in Long Marston. Crews will remain at the plant until at least Wednesday, Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said. Residents close to the centre, near the border with Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, are still advised to keep windows and doors closed. Wychavon District Council said anyone affected by the smoke should contact the NHS. The fire began at 21:10 BST on 30 April and at its height eight fire engines were at the scene. The fire service said it was the second blaze at the premises within a month and an investigation into its cause is under way. |
