The officer was assisting with an arrest at a property in Sand Street, Stalybridge, when the attack happened. The officer was attacked with a "knife or screwdriver" while helping bailiffs at a house in Sand Street, Stalybridge, at around 10:20 BST.

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of assault and remain in police custody. A 39-year-old man and three women, aged 18, 22 and 41, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and affray.
Supt Neil Evans said the officer had been "extremely lucky" to escape serious injury as the "puncture wound was close to his neck".
He said the injured man was "making good progress" in hospital.
