A police officer has been stabbed in the chest in Greater Manchester. | |
The officer was attacked with a "knife or screwdriver" while helping bailiffs at a house in Sand Street, Stalybridge, at around 10:20 BST. | |
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said the officer had been taken to hospital for treatment and his injuries were "not life-threatening". | |
A 39-year-old man and three women, aged 18, 22 and 41, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and affray. | |
Supt Neil Evans said the officer had been "extremely lucky" to escape serious injury as the "puncture wound was close to his neck". | |
He said the injured man was "making good progress" in hospital. |
